Entry 17: Wreck Hunting

It was time to go wreck hunting. I set my universe map to show ships that had been destroyed in the last hour. The closest system showing destroyed wrecks was 2 jumps away in Gultratren. According to the map 2 ships had been destroyed there in the past hour.

I arrived in Gultratren and warped to the Ingunn Gate in search of any wrecks. When I arrived I found a total of 5 wrecks, 4 of which containing loot. However they were also guarded by pirates and other pilots and I soon had to warp out. I decided to warp back to within 100km of the gate. Perhaps I could make a snatch and grab run. My plan was to move at least 150km away from the most promising wreck then warp to it, loot it and get out. I noticed an Iteron III wreck, this would be my first target.

I had warped 88km from it, turning around I started heading away from it. When I was 150km away I bookmarked the spot then warped in. I was rewarded with 1 Expanded Cargohold, 1 Inertia Stabilizer I and 2 units of Kernite. I Instantly warped out and docked at a station before anybody managed to get a lock on me. I checked the market value of the Inertia Stabilizer. It was worth 20,000ISK. The other items all up would get me maybe 1500ISK. Not the most lucrative haul, but a hell of a lot more fun than mining. Maybe if I went back and tried another wreck I would have better luck.

Ignoring the Aggression Timer, I undocked and warped back to my safe spot. I had seen a Bestower wreck earlier, this would be my next target. Following the same procedure I managed to warp away with 2 more Expanded Cargohold I's. I redocked unloaded my loot and started the process again.

Only two wrecks were left, a Velator, which I imagine to be a bit worthless and a frigate. It was time to make a move on the frigate. I Warped in and examined the frigate wreck. My computer told me that it contained loot, but upon examining it I found it to be empty. The pirates in the system had started locking onto me. I tried to warp out but had moved to close to the Ingunn Gate and could not align properly. With my armour now taking damage I was left with no choice but to jump through to Ingunn.

Arriving the other side I could not believe my eyes. The gate was littered with Industrial wrecks. A total of 9 wrecks and 1 cargo container. If I played my cards properly who knows what I could find. I set up a bookmark 150km from the furthest wreck. Other ships were in the area around the gate but no pirates. Were they guarding the wrecks, I guess I would find out soon enough.

I managed to move from wreck to wreck filling my cargo hold without any intervention. I warped, docked, unloaded and returned, having found a very lucrative wreck. Amazingly after many trips, I managed to loot every wreck floating next to the gate. It was time to start checking the market and see what my options were. To sell the loot as is or reprocess it first.

To sell as is would make me 625096ISK. Reprocessing would give me over 700,000 ISK. It was time to reprocess and sell. I checked my bank balance. I now had over 1.2 million ISK. Still not enough for the Corp Start-up fee, but certainly a lot closer to it.

After checking the map I returned to Gultratren and once again started looting the wrecks I found there. One wreck contained over 19,000 units of Kernite. My ship could only hold 100 units at a time that would fetch me 30,000 ISK per run. I guess I had found my next target. The start up fee was a total of 1,599,800 ISK. I had 1,248,556, I was still 351,244 ISK short. I would need to make a total of 12 runs to finally have enough money for the start up fee.

I managed to make 11 successful runs, with each run getting ever closer to my goal. However undocking from the station on the 12th run I was greeted with a pilot called NCC 1701E flying a battlecruiser attacking another pilot, it was getting a bit dangerous around here. I managed to make the 12th run. Before docking though I noticed a wreck and cargo container floating just outside the station. I undocked and managed to loot 40 units of something called Strontium Clathrates before NCC 1701E reappeared flashing Red on my HUD. Not wanting to stick around I warped to another station to unload the loot.

I decided it was probably still in my best interest to keep looting the Kernite while I could. I would still need ISK in the future to cover my clone costs and who knows what other corporation costs I would have to pay. NCC 1701E was still waiting outside the station. He let me dock without hassle but I worried that upon undocking I would be fried. Only 1 way to find out.

I undocked and warped away, he hadnt attempted to target me. Perhaps he felt I was not worth it. But how long would that last. Picking up another 100 units I headed back, NCC 1701E was still there, another wreck added to his collection. Once again he left me alone. This wasn't too bad after all. I guess he had bigger fish to fry.

After a total 22 runs, I decided that it was probably time to finally sell the ore I had accumulated. Docking at the station I sold the 22,000 units of Kernite I had looted for a staggering 697,000 ISK. Taking my total balance to just over 1,950,000 ISK. I finally had enough to pay the Start Up fee. It was time to head back to Todifirauan and complete my orders.

Entry 16: Mining and Deception

Arriving at Todifrauan I decided to try my hand at mining again so I warped to the first Asteroid belt in the system. The belt contain an ore called Hedbergite. I checked the Market, someone was willing to pay over 2500ISK per unit of ore. Figuring that wasn't a bad price I began to mine. I had forgotten how boring it was, not to mention slow.

After a while my cargo hold was full. I had only managed to mine 39units of Ore. before having to dock at the station and start again. This would go a lot quicker if i had 2 basic miners. I then had an idea on how I may be able to get another one. If i was to leave my ship and dock at the other station perhaps my insurance company would give me a new ship? Nothing ventured nothing gained. So I left my ship and docked at the other station in my pod.

Upon docking I received the following message:

2009.01.16 13:48
We from the friendly insurance company Pend Insurance regret the recent loss of your spacecraft. According to the agreement between Pend Insurance and SCC, we hereby grant you a brand new Ibis, fully fitted. Also included is a gratuity gift of Tritanium.

It seems my plan had worked. Claiming my new ship I undocked and warped back to the other station. I docked and removed the Mining Laser from my new ship. I then transferred to my other ship and removed the Gatling gun. I attempted to fit the second Mining Laser and my ships computer informed me of the following:

To bring Basic Miner online requires 70.0 cpu units, but only 26.0 of the 96.0 units that your computer produces are still available.

So much for my great plan. Things are never easy in New Eden.

I managed to make 2 more mining trips before pirates arrived in the system. I moved onto the next belt and came across 3 wrecks. I looted the wrecks finding a new type of mining laser. It seems I had the required skills to use it. So I docked my ship, fitted the new laser and set out again.

The new laser increased my yield from 10 units to 14 units per cycle. A reduction of 40% in time taken to fill my cargo. Further research revealed that I would need at least 500 units of Hedbergite before I could refine the ore into its basic minerals. At 40 units per trip It didn't take a genius to figure out I would be here a while.

After what seemed an eternity of dull mindless work, I successfully mined the 500 units required to refine the ore. If I sold the ore on the market I would receive 128,700 ISK. Or I could refine the ore and make a profit of 84,000 ISK. I could probably make more if was willing to make the jumps to the highest bidders locations but as I was tired and needed to rest I just sold the ORE unrefined.

Entry 15: Time to Move On

I returned to the Skeleton Comet to find that all the Pirates had been destroyed. Now was a good as time as any to try and get the contents of the scorched Containers. I started moving towards them when another pirate appeared. Perhaps he would be more interested in the other Pilot in the system who was currently salvaging the wrecks than me. I could only hope.

The other Pilots name was Cortis Vahn. Using his hammerhead drones he destroyed the pirate leaving me with a clear path to the scorched container. However instead of a passkey I found nothing but Drugs and Missiles. Still I could probably sell them so I transferred the cargo to my own ship and was promptly destroyed by a group of pirates who warped into the system right at my location. Time to dock yet again and pick up my new Ibis.

Remembering how much ISK I had made earlier from looting wrecks in Low Sec space. I decided that perhaps it would be be better to explore High Sec space and loot for a greater profit. With this in mind I set my destination back to Todifrauan and explore the surrounding systems.

Entry 14: The Azure Chasm

I jumped through the Stargate to Colelie where I warped to the Contested Gallente Azure Chasm beacon the following message flashed up on my HUD.

This deadspace area contains the famous Colelie natural phenomenon, a giant canyon carved into a massive rare type of asteroid which locals refer to as the Azure Stone. Over the last decade it has attracted millions of visitors annually, not only nature lovers interested in the Azure Stone but also those galactic citizens who wish to relax in one of the massive luxury resorts built by Impetus in the tourist quarter.

A few months ago ownership of the Azure Canyon deadspace pocket was formally taken up by the Wiyrkomi Corporation, after they had paid an enormous sum of credits for it in addition to signing a deal with Federation authorities which forces them to share a large portion of their earnings and resources acquired from the region every month. However Wiyrkomi have yet to start constructing their massive power stations, as a large group of Serpentis as well as Gallente protesters have taken up residence within the Azure Canyon and refuse to leave. Federation authorities have so far ignored Wiyrkomi requests for assistance.

I arrived to find another acceleration gate and 3 Fon Frigate's, 2 Fon Cruiser's and Apte Donie. They didn't seem interested in me at all so I moved towards the gate and tried to activate it. Once again the gate would not activate the following message appeared.

This gate is locked! To activate it, you need to have Azure Canyon Tourist Pass in your cargo hold. By all signs it will not be consumed upon use, so the only problem is to locate the thing!

So much for my great exploration. It would seems things are never easy in New Eden. I decided to return to the Skeleton Comet and see what I could find there.

Entry 13: Gate to Hidden Path

I decided it was time to check out some of the other sites I had wanted to investigate earlier. Warping to the Colelie Gate, I found an acceleration gate called Gate to Hidden Path. I tried to activate the gate only be be disallowed. The following reason flashed up on my HUD.

This gate is locked! To activate it, you need to have Passkey to Yan Jung Relic Site in your cargo hold. By all signs it will not be consumed upon use, so the only problem is to locate the thing!

Perhaps this relic could be found in the scorched containers at the Skeleton Comet. Perhaps this was the reason they were guarding it in such force. Or maybe I would have to find it somewhere else completely. Either way at this moment in time it seems the Gate to the Hidden Path is closed to me.

Entry 12: Comet Raiding

12 Jumps later I found myself back in Deltole. I had left Auvergne made the 4 Jumps to Deltole, collected the Null Ammo made the 4 Jumps back to Auvergne, sold the Ammo then finished off by making the 4 jumps back to Deltole and docking my ship. Must remember in future that when moving to another system to sell cargo, its a good idea to take the cargo with you.

I returned to the Comet and managed to acquire some items from various wrecks and containers filling my cargo hold. The Pirates were still there but for some reason left me alone this time round. Once my cargo hold was full I warped back to the station and unloaded. Reprocessing the cargo I then sold the minerals for just under 80,000ISK. Taking my total balance now up to 223,000ISK. At this rate I would have enough ISK to pay the Corporation startup Fee in ohhh another 20 trips.

I checked the Aggression Countdown. I still had 7 mins left before CONCORD would once again come to my aid. It seems I had stolen from 2 separate Corporations. The Black Shadow Rangers and Diplomatic Disruption. Best to sit still and wait it out. When all was safe I undocked from the station and once again warped on another raid of the comets wrecks. However this time round I wasn't alone. 3 Other pilots obviously had the same Idea. I would need to be extra careful and not steal any cargo belonging to them.

I found some Scorched Containers that didn't seem to belong to any corporation and moved towards them. They were surrounded by Pirate Ruffians who promptly destroyed me in a matter of seconds as I got to close to the Scorched Container.

The other pilots had begun fighting the Pirates. I was left alone sitting in my pod floating 71m from the scorched container I had intended to empty. I tried to have a look inside to see what I would of received for my troubles, only to have access denied due to the cargo being guarded. I decided instead to sit and watch the others battle it out.

Wreck after Wreck would appear on my HUD as the other pilots destroyed Pirate after Pirate. The Pirates seemed to be providing a constant stream of reinforcements. The 3 Pilots became 2 when Cursealot was destroyed. This left 1 Battlecruiser and 1 Cruiser to take on the remaining Pirates, 2 V 13.

Before too long a second Battlecruiser joined the fight. The odds now were down to 3 v 7. Wrecks littering the space around the mined out comet. Unfortunately It was time for me to leave and I could not stay for the end of the battle. I docked my pod and found a new IBIS waiting for me.

I returned to the comet a few hours later. A battle was still taking place. Hoping not to be noticed I moved to one of the cargo containers and removed its contents, instantly warping back to station. After unloading my cargo I undocked and warped back to the comet.

I started moving towards another container when suddenly I was targeted by one of the pilots and soon was taking damage. It seems he belonged to the Corp who I had just stolen from and as such CONCORD were looking the other way. I managed to warp out but not without taking damage to my armor. Docking up I decided to wait the 15 mins out while the Aggression Counter counted down and then return, this time examining the cargo closely before taking it.

With the Aggression countdown complete, I undocked and once again set off for the comet. Ubuvanchik, the pilot who had shot at me was still there in his cruiser. Part of me hoped he would shoot again, just so CONCORD would intervene and blow him to hell. I picked a wreck and moved towards it.

The other pilots including Ubuvanchik soon warped out. Leaving me alone to transfer cargo from a number of wrecks before returning to the station with a full cargo hold. I Transfered the cargo from my ship to the hanger, reprocessing and selling the cargo. I checked my balance I now had just under 360,000ISK, a long way still to go. With that in mind I decided to call it a day.

Entry 11: Reality Dawns

I travelled the 4 Jumps to Auvergne. Only to discover once I had arrived and docked that I had left my cargo behind in Deltole. The confines of the Pod prevented me from kicking myself. However, just before I had docked, I had noticed a Beacon leading to a Rogue Drone Infestation. Sprout. I decided to investigate and as a result perhaps the journey would not be a complete waste of time after all.

Warping to the location the following Message appeared.

This deadspace field appears to have been infested with a strain of Rogue Drones. Rogue Drones are a self-replicating "lifeform" controlled by artificial intelligence, often in the form of a lucid communication hivemind or centered inside one of their dreaded Rogue Drone Mothers. This particular complex is the construction site of a new hive, far away from its maternal headquarters.

DED Threat Assessment: Minor (2 of 10)

I arrived to find another acceleration gate which I activated. Coming out of warp 2 Drones began to attack me. I managed to destroy one of them but was taking a lot of damage from the other. I decided to warp out and dock. I now realise that I am in need of greater weapons for defence or I will never survive the harsh realities of life in New Eden. It was time to return to Deltole and retrieve my forgotten Cargo.

Entry 10: The Skeleton Comet

Using the starmap I have searched through many of the various systems closer to M-VACR but have been unable to find any stations closer that will allow me to freely dock and transfer my clone. As such I decided to return to Deltole and investigate the areas of space I found there. On my way to Deltole I pillaged the contents of a wreck in Halguir and collected the Null Ammo I had previously left in Bei.

I arrived in Deltole and warped to the Junk yard I had visited earlier. Two pilots were located within the Junk yard that I had not noticed before. Krester Rupptofs and Wrtuk Formur. Both pilots are agents for the Trust Partners Warehouse corporation. Apparently if my reputation with their corporation was good enough I could be employed by them to conduct missions. I had seen similar agents in space stations but this was the first time I had seen them while in open space. However it seems my reputation is currently not high enough and as such they barley acknowledge my existence. I couldn't find anything further of value in the Junk yard so I warped to something called the Skeleton Comet.

Going into warp the following message appeared on my HUD:

The Skeleton Comet, a comet that was picked clean during the early stages of Federation space exploration, is one of the many landmarks in Algintal that makes the constellation known as one of the most beautiful places in the whole Federation. While not as spectacular as its more renown cousin the Canyon of Rust the Skeleton Comet still attracted tourists from all over. But in recent years the smuggling cartels operating in the constellation have made the place their own. Driven from their other pirate havens by activists or, more recently, foreign corporations, they have convened here to make the Skeleton Comet their last great bastion of smuggling activity in the constellation. Needless to say, the only tourists now visiting the place are those in search of smuggled goods or illicit affairs.

Yet the Skeleton Comet holds one little-known secret unlocked by those early miners. While drilling in a remote corner of the complex they found ancient relics and definite signs that humans had tread here before, thousands of years earlier. Only recently these startling evidence were analyzed further to collaborate what had until then only existed as rumors whispered in shady mining bars around the Federation. A fascinating story of early settlers in the world of EVE was uncovered, a nation calling itself Yan Jung.

But the intrusion of the smuggling cartels halted further arcaeological diggings, though it is said that the smugglers themselves have been poking around in the old ruins. Some say fabulous discoveries have been made, but the smugglers keep silent on the subject.

Coming out of warp I found an Ancient Acceleration gate. This would take me the rest of the way to the comet. I activated the gate and arrived to see a feast of wrecks and cargo containers appear on my HUD. Unfortunately I also found a high concentration of pirates as well. My little Ibis would be no match for these Pirates. However I decided that perhaps I could raid some of the wrecks before being targeted.

I started moving towards the closest Cargo Container. Waiting for the tell tale sign of a ship locking onto me. I managed to reach the Cargo Container and move its contents. However I was stealing so once again I was in danger of being destroyed by the cargo containers owners Corp. It wasn't long however before a number of the pirates had moved within range and started locking onto me. Common sense dictated It was a good time to warp to the station and dock.

Once docked, I reprocessed the majority of items I had acquired, mainly ammo, and sold the minerals. I still had the Null ammo and decided that perhaps I should make the 4 Jump Journey to Auvergne, where I could get the best price available. I will return to the skeleton Comet later.

Tuesday 13 January 2009

Entry 9: Burning Curiosity

I decided to leave Deltole, continue on my journey and complete my orders. However when I reached the Colelie gate I found another beacon plus an Acceleration Gate. Curiosity was burning inside me to see what wonders could be found. But I had a mission I needed to complete and made note of the locations of these gates and vowed to return ASAP to investigate.

I entered Colelie and once again was welcomed into the system with the knowledge of more beacons to explore. A survey Station and something known as Azure Chasm. I very much want to explore these areas but will have to wait for a more appropriate time. With great difficulty i jumped through to Bei.

I decided now was a good time to transfer my clone from Angur as I was about to enter low sec space. I docked at a station belonging to Freedom Extension Retail and transferred my clone and ships cargo to the station. It seems the value of the Ammo I had so proudly stolen was of less value in this region than where I stole it from. I then undocked and continued on my way.

I left Bei and entered Hagilur and was greeted with the site of 4 wrecks containing cargo to be pillaged. However they were also being guarded by Pro'om Tealon in his Vigil. Regrettably I had to leave the wrecks behind or risk death.

The remainder of the journey went well and can gladly report that I have arrived and docked safely at Todifauan and will now begin to search for a closer station.

Entry 8: Outposts and Junkyards

Undocking from Gergish. I found myself looking at not one but two Orca's outside the station. This was the first time I had seen these ships. They looked like Giant Slabs of Metal floating in space. It wasn't too long before both had warped away.

Upon entering system Girani-Fa. I noticed a beacon marking a Serpentis Scout Outpost listed on my HUD. I decided to investigate what this outpost was warped my ship to the beacons location. What i found there was nothing but large pieces of debris floating in space and a Pirate Scout Outpost which seemed long abandoned. I guided my ship towards the outpost to get a closer look. Perhaps there was a way to make the ISK needed for the Corporation Startup Fee. After a while I came to realize that nothing was here of any value or importance and continued on my journey.

When I entered the system Deltole, I discovered that it contained a Municipal Junkyard. Perhaps I could find something to salvage and sell. I began to warp to the Junkyard when the following information bulletin flashed up on my HUD.

When the tourist industry in Algintal was in its infancy the local authorities became concerned that the abundance of space debris left by earlier colonists would hurt tourism in the long run. They carried out a hasty cleanup operation of the constellation, collecting most of the debris and dumping it in a remote place in the Deltole system. The intent was always to finish the job later and incinerate the heap, but the authorities have never gotten around to it and the Municipal Junkyard has been left alone for decades now. It is thus the perfect place for smugglers running illegal operations such as forgery.

It sounded promising. When i came out of warp I found myself surrounded by junk of all types. Then I noticed an unsecured cargo container floating in space. I approached within 1500m and took a chance look inside. It contained 1000 units of small Null Ammo. The cargo belonged to a pilot in a corporation called Kumovi. I decided the risk was worth taking and transferred the Ammo to my cargo hold. Expecting to be destroyed at any moment I instantly warped out and docked at the only station in the system.

My computer kindly informed me that I had committed a crime and as such Kumovi could now destroy my ship within the next 15mins without CONCORD intervention. I decided it probably was best to sit in the station and wait the 15mins out.

I checked the market for details of the worth of the Ammo I had just acquired. If I sold it now i would make less than 2,000ISK. Didn't really seem to warrant the effort. However if i warped to system Auvergne which was 4 Jumps away I could sell the ammo for 30,000ISK.

I think i will hold onto it for now and see what other prices I can find along the way to Todifrauan. However I fully intend to return to the Junkyard in the near future and see what else I can claim.

Entry 7: A New Skill

I have investigated what is needed to set up a corporation. Other than a Corporation startup fee of 1599800ISK, that I do not have, I would also be required to learn the Corporation Management skill. Checking the market I found the skill for sale for 18000.01ISK in the Gergish System. At least I had the funds to purchase it and it was located only 4 Jumps from the Angur System.

I undocked my ship and proceeded to the Gergish System incident free. I docked my ship at Gergish X - Moon 3 - Royal Amarr Institute School and paid the fee for the skill book. I was currently training for level 5 Spaceship Command and had nearly 2 days left before training was completed. I made the decision to pause the training and learn Corporation Management instead, as it would only take 30 mins to learn.

I checked my skillpoints and realized that I had accumulated more than my current grade of clone could handle. It was 40000ISK to upgrade to the next grade of clone. Not wanting to take any chances, as a result of my last encounter, I paid the fee and upgraded my clone.

I reset my destination back to M-VACR. I have checked my route for the closest station to M-VACR that will allow me to dock and transfer my clone. The nearest station I can currently find is 35 Jumps away from M-VACR in the Todifrauan System.

The Todifrauan System is 20 Jumps from my current location. I will transfer my clone to this station upon arrival. This is the closest station that my current flight plan passes through. It may well be that other stations are closer but not directly on my flight path. I will investigate further upon my arrival. If I can not find a station any closer to M-VACR, I will setup Offices for the New Corporation there. That is once I have managed to raise enough money and pay the startup fee.

Friday 9 January 2009

New Orders 3:

We regret the loss of your ship. We believe that a contributing factor to this loss could be a lack of neutrality as a result of your membership with your current corporation. As such you are instructed to form a new corporation which will be completely neutral. Set up an office for your corporation at the nearest station that you can find to the M-VACR System. The Corporation will not have any members other than yourself.

The Corporation shall be known as "The Ancestors of the Ancients".

Tuesday 6 January 2009

Entry 6: A Swift Death

I regret to inform you that I have had my ship destroyed as well as my pod. I now find myself located back in the Angur system 55 Jumps from M-VACR. It was while exploring the various systems near M-VACR, searching for a station that would allow me to dock, that I was attacked suddenly without warning and destroyed. Details of the kill were recorded in my ships log as follows:

Victim: Kira Caldar
Corp: State War Academy
Alliance: NONE
Faction: NONE
Destroyed: Ibis
System: E0DR-G
Security: 0.0
Damage Taken: 385
Involved parties:
Name: GoodHard (laid the final blow)
Security: 5.0
Corp: Crimson Aces
Alliance: Shadow of xXDEATHXx
Faction: NONE
Ship: Hound
Weapon: Paradise Cruise Missile
Damage Done: 385
Name: Mobile Large Warp Disruptor I / Crimson Aces
Damage Done: 0

Dropped items:
Basic Miner
Magnetometric Sift Probe, Qty: 46 (Cargo)
Civilian Gatling Railgun
Ladar Comb Probe, Qty: 50 (Cargo)

I had managed to pillage the probes from wrecks in the previous system.

After destroying my ship GoodHard then destroyed my pod before I could warp away.

I have requested an extended period of sleep state to allow my clone to fully adjust to the rigors of its new life. Upon awakening I will set off on the long journey back, in search of a station as close to M-VACR as I can find that will allow me to dock, as per your orders.

Entry 5: M-VACR

M-VACR
Solar System
Region : Cobalt Edge
Constellation: DA0V-R
Security Level: 0.0

According to the ships computer M-VACR was 52 jumps from my current position. With only a handful of them in High Sec Space. Obviously this journey was going to take a while. The computer informed me that the system consisted of 5 Planets, 3 Asteroid Belts and 7 Moons. No space stations. Interestingly this system seems to be located on the very edge of the Galaxy. Is this the reason for its importance? In time perhaps you will answer that question.

Leaving the City of God behind I warped out of the system and began the longest journey of my life so far. The lack of danger encountered on my previous journey into Low Sec space contributed to my decision not to dock on the way and to save as much ISK as possible. In retrospect this may not have been my best idea. Not because I have encountered any danger on my journey here but because now that I find myself here, I don't seem to be able to find a safe harbor to dock my ship.

My trip like my previous ones was completely uneventful. The only note of interest was receiving a News Flash informing me of recent Caldari Activity in one of the systems along my route. As it did not seem to concern me I disregarded the message and stayed on course. Some of the gates were being guarded by pirates and various drones. However I managed to warp away before they managed to get a lock and as such was not attacked at all. A couple of the systems were occupied by other pilots but we did not cross paths or communicate.

After what seemed like an eternity I safely arrived at M-VACR. I commenced my exploration immediately and can now report the following:

The System Consists of 3 Ice Planets, 1 Solid Planet and 1 Gas Planet
An Alliance called Shadow of xXDeathXx, are claiming Sovereignty. Shadow of xXDeathXx consists of over 100 member corporations.

6 moons orbit the 4th planet
1 moon orbits the 5th planet
1 asteroid belt orbits the 1st planet
1 asteroid belt orbits the 3rd planet
1 asteroid belt orbits the 5th planet

Inspection of the planets and asteroid belts revealed nothing. However upon arriving at moon 3 of the 4th planet I discovered a Station not listed in the computers data banks. The station is owned by the Crimson Aces Corporation, a member of the Shadow of xXDeathXx Alliance. Crimson Aces consists of 36 members and is lead by Chief Volodar, who states your soul belongs to him.

Details of the station structures are as follows.

Exploration of the asteroid belts revealed that they contained the following ore types

Arkonor
Spodumain
Veldspar
Scordite
Gneiss
Hemorphite
Mercoxit
Omber
Ochre
Hedbergite
Bistot

Various drones can be found patrolling these belts.

2 Stargates are located in the system leading to CHP-76 and 58Z-IH.

This completes my report. As ordered I will now search for a station to dock at and await further orders.

New Orders 2:

Kira Calder. Well done on completing your mission. You are now required to fly to the system designated M-VACR. Please file a complete report on all orbital bodies that can be found in this system. Including all moons and asteroid belts.

This system is vital to our long term goals.

Dock your ship in a station situated as close to M-VACR as possible and await further orders as soon as you have sent your report.

Entry 4: City of God

"City of God" Who, what where? I had no idea. As I was sitting in Low Sec space unprotected I decided to head back to Angur and dock. While there I would research this so called "City of God".

I plotted a course back to Angur. The journey back was even more uneventful than the journey here. I found empty system after empty system. Upon entering Angur I found a new wreck and removed its contents. Well I removed what I could anyway. It seems this was a wreck of a large transport vessel and contained amongst other things a ship. I couldn't believe my eyes. If only I had a transport vessel of my own with a cargo hold large enough to transport this ship into. This I decided would be something i would have to look into. But how to acquire a ship without purchasing it on the market, I just don't know the answer, short of finding one pilotless floating in space. But what are the chances of that?

I docked at the station in Angur and sold the contents of the wreck i had managed to retrieve and was rewarded with 140000ISK for my troubles. At least I could see my bank balance going in the right direction. That should pay for a few clone transfers if needed.

I accessed the historical archives and searched for "City of God". Interesting, it seems that there once was an Amarrian emperor called Zaragram II. Not content with just being the leader of his people, Zaragram also believed himself to be a god and ordered a great city to be built, a place worthy of divine residence. So the City of God was built and named Mezagorm. However Zaragram had enemies and was assassinated just as his great city was completed. His Enemies took power and Mezagorm was laid to waste. To this day the ruins of this short lived city still remain and can be found in the Shastal System.

The Shastal System was located in High Sec Space. Well at least that was good news. Once I leave Low Sec space I can let the auto pilot take over. I undocked from the station and headed out of the system. It wasn't long before I found myself leaving the Ami system and entering High Sec space. This was going a lot easier than I thought. One round trip in Low Sec space and not even a scratch. Setting the auto pilot I sat back and enjoyed the journey to Shastal.

It wasn't long before I arrived and warped to the City of God. There I found nothing but ruins of a once great city. The ruins were void of any life. Not even another ship could be seen exploring them. I traveled around a bit exploring each ruin individually when i came upon a great statue still standing atop of one of the ruined structures. I assumed this must be Zaragram, the man who wold be a god. He is holding a flag and pointing into the unknown. As interesting as this city may be, I have no idea why I would need to be here.

New Orders 1:

We admit that we were very surprised at the success of your first task. To travel such distance without destruction is very commendable. We are sure that you were the right person for this most important mission.

Your next task is again that of simple exploration. You are required to travel to "City of God". Once there you will receive new orders.

Entry 3: Eve Gate

Beautiful, radiant, so close yet so far. A vibrant pulsating light show that once brought humanoid life to New Eden on show for all to see. So this is the wormhole, or what is left of it, the place of origin. To think that life here once began out there.

My Ibis is currently floating in space with the burning sun of New Eden below me. I have found the cargo container closest to the sun and left my marker as instructed.

My journey here was virtually uneventful. The dangers of Low Sec space never did eventuate other than a brief encounter with one pilot. I had set my Autopilot to transverse all the high sec systems. This left me time to do some research on how things work within New Eden.

My superiors had mentioned to me that I was only allowed to purchase Instruction Manuals and Clones and that everything else had to be accumulated by other means. I had already discovered that I could salvage wrecks finding different types of modules which i could either sell or use. I expect however finding new ships this way, would be difficult. It seems Instruction Manuals or Skill Books as they are generally referred to are used to teach pilots new skills to enable them to fly better ships, use advanced modules, make modifications to ships. In fact it would seem that virtually everything in new Eden requires that you have the appropriate skills before attempting to use them. You simply purchase the skill book which when activated is then learnt on a sub-conscience level. Even while you sleep. The more skills you learn the more Skill points you also gain, which then lead me to Clones.

All Pilots have a clone. This clone sits in what is known as a VAT in a station. From what I have been led to believe. If a pilot's pod is destroyed, just before destruction the computer recognizes the danger and takes a snapshot of the brain of the pilot and instantly sends it to the cloning station where the pilots clone is situated. In essence preserving the life of the Pilot forever. However their are different grades of clones. A basic clone will only retain a certain amount of Skill Points learnt by the pilot. So pilots must upgrade their clones when ever they accumulate a number of Skill Points greater than what the current clone can retain. If they don't they risk losing all skills they have learnt or a portion of them. Obviously the purchasing of clones requires ISK and increases with each grade. I checked my currently skill points compared to my clone and thankfully was safe from this happening, as of this current time.

It was while researching this that I also discovered you could pay a fee to transfer your clone to another station. This bit of news would come in handy. Upon reaching Low Sec space I decided that I would transfer my clone. At least that way if I was to meet my death as I expected to do, I would be able to continue my journey from a station closer than the one I originally set out from. I did this a total of 3 times before running out of ISK. I guess that answered my question of if 17000ISK was a lot of money. The answer being a resounding NO. However I wasn't worried. I had found Low Sec space to be a very lonely place with no danger what so ever. My opinion was about to change though after entering the Access System.

Upon entering Access, like many systems before it I found Access to be empty. This seemed to be the normal way of things in Low Sec Space. I warped to the stargate that would allow me passage into the system Exit. I noticed some wrecks floating about 17km from the stargate. As the system was empty I flew to the closest wreck to empty it of its precious cargo before continuing my journey into Exit, as my funds were low and it was a risk worth taking. It was then that a pilot appeared in system. His name was "wibble ipera". He hadn't come through the Exit Gate so I decided to align my ship to the Angur Gate and warp back to it if he warped to my location. As i was 17 Km from the Exit gate this seemed to be the best option.

Within a few seconds he warped 17 Km from my location. Obviously he was preparing to jump through. I decided to wait and see if he would simply jump through leaving me alone to empty the other wrecks. Keeping a close eye on his range I noticed that the distance between us was getting shorter. He was moving towards me. I warped instantly leaving the wrecks behind never to know what wonderful surprises they may have held for me. I arrived at the Angur Gate and instantly aligned myself back to the Exit Gate. If he followed me I would instantly warp to the gate and jump through.

A few moment later he warped to my location. Instantly I warped out. It was while in warp the following message was broadcast over the local channel.

wibble ipera > :-) Tags kira caldar...your it now

I had no idea what he was talking about. I hadn't been tagged at all and what was this IT I now apparently was. I arrived at the stargate and instantly jumped through. Spotting wibble on my scanners just before the jump finalized. He was most definitely following me.

The jump finalized and I found my self in Exit system. I Aligned myself to the next stargate and warped. The Access stargate activating as i did so. Wibble had followed me through. Maybe he wasn't dangerous I found myself thinking. Maybe TAG was a form of greeting or some sort of mating ritual. If i played along with him perhaps I could learn more of what his intentions were. The following conversation took place.

Kira Caldar > 1st day in and already being felt up
wibble ipera > lol
wibble ipera > you really should not come to Low sec being a day old and NOT expect to get shot

Kira Caldar > Thats what I was told. But hey im here now
wibble ipera > hehe
wibble ipera > damn it sit still so i can shoot you....lol

I had been flying in between the stargate's in the Exit System trying to shake him off or get him so bored he wouldn't follow me through to the next system. His intentions were now obvious. He wanted me dead. Why I don't know, but he certainly was not trying to mate with me.

Kira Caldar > why would you want to
wibble ipera > coz i'm bored
Kira Caldar > You could try self gratification
wibble ipera > am not THAT bored yet

I was at the Gateway stargate and jumped through to the Gateway system. Hoping that I had bored him enough to leave me alone. Instantly I warped to the next gate however once again I noticed the gate activating as I warped out. Wibble had followed me again. However it did seem he had given up.

wibble ipera > well i'm off to my tower...
wibble ipera > fly safe
Kira Caldar > thankyou
Kira Caldar > for not killing me
Kira Caldar > have fun
wibble ipera > thats only coz i could not get a lock before you warped :-)
Kira Caldar > oh well thank you anyway

With that I jumped through to Central Point system and hoped he was true to his word and did not follow. I warped through the remaining systems incident free and arrived in New Eden to the spectacle I described at the start of my report. I now await new orders.

Entry 2: Mining and Pirates

Using the ships computer I discovered that EVE GATE was indeed the place of Origin. It seems a stable wormhole once existed, that allowed virtually instantaneous travel to and from a long lost civilization in another galaxy. It is generally believed that all humanoid life forms found in New Eden migrated from this long lost Galaxy. However the wormhole collapsed preventing any further travel. For what reason I was to travel there I did not know. Only that I was obligated to do so.

I checked my ships navigation computer. It seems I was in a system designated as Kisogo located in a region of space designated as The Forge. According to the ships navigation computer Eve Gate was located in a system designated New Eden. I surmise that the galaxy as a whole must of been named after this system of origin. The computer navigated a course for me to follow. I would have to make a total of 25 jumps through various stargates before reaching my destination.

The second half of the journey was marked Red on my screen. It seems that once I was due to enter the Ami System I would be entering what would be known as Low Sec Space. It seems the system's within the galaxy have been designated as either High or Low Sec space. The main difference between these system being that systems in High Sec Space are patrolled by a police force known as CONCORD. As such, illegal activity is monitored closely and the chances of your ship being destroyed by other pilots are greatly reduced but not impossible while in High Sec Space. Low Sec space in comparison is a lawless part of the galaxy where pirates roam freely without fear of CONCORD intervention.

I noticed an Automated Centii Training Vessel approximately 10km from my ship. My ships computer kindly informed me that destruction of this ship would result in the paying of a bounty to myself. Perhaps I would need funds to purchase the instruction manuals my superiors mentioned to me. I decided that it was a good idea to destroy this unmanned vessel and collect the bounty. As it was Automated I did not see this as a Violation of my orders not to fire upon other pilots unless in self defense.

I instructed my computer to Orbit the Unmanned Vessel or DRONE at 1.5km. Once in range of my Civilian Gatling Gun I opened fire. Destruction of the Drone came Very quickly with minimal damage to my own shields. My HUD informed me that the wreck of the Drone seemed to contain cargo that I could now pillage and use somehow to either aquire more funds or improve my ship.

Moving to the wreck I discovered it contained 1 Unit of Tritanium and promptly transferred it to my own cargo bay. It was then that i noticed two more Drones had appeared on my HUD. Both Drones also had a bounty on them so once again i moved into range and easily dispatched them, collecting the bounty and pillaging both wrecks. I received 2 Civilian Shield Boosters for my troubles.

I decided that it was time to find a space station and dock my ship. I checked my HUD and discovered that the system contained only 1 station. It was owned by a corporation known as the State War Academy. I had seen this name before at some point in my short life time so I checked my own Bio and discovered that I was in fact a member of this corporation. As I do not remember making the decision to join The State War Academy, I hoped that i was not in violation of the rules concerning joining Alliances or corporations unless instructed. Further investigation revealed that all pilots must be a member of a corporation so it made sense to me that this was the one chosen for me by my superiors. I instructed the ships computer to dock at the station which was orbiting the 7th planet in the Kisogo system.

I warped within docking range of the station and was granted permission to dock my ship. Upon docking I was pleased to see I had been allocated a personal cargo hanger which contained another unit of Tritanium and a Damage Control Unit. I moved my ships cargo into my personal hanger and checked the market details of each item. I noticed that the station contained a reprocessing plant that would allow me to break the objects down into their basic elements. After checking the market again I decided that I would reprocess the modules and sell the Minerals on the market. This earned me a total of 4595.26ISK.

My balance however was 9595.26ISK. Checking my journal its seems I was also granted an Inheritance of 5000ISK by my corporation. Still I felt perhaps I should try to earn some more ISK before setting off on my journey and headed back to the asteroid belt I had just left. As I had hoped I found another Automated Drone and dispatched it just as easily as before and once again two more drones appeared on my HUD. I dispatched them as well and then, pillaged all the wrecks of their contents.

I thought now might be a good time to try my hand at mining as I had plenty of cargo space available and plenty of Veldspar floating outside my ship. However I must admit after only a few moments I became very bored and stopped. I docked back at the station and sold the Basic Minerals after reprocessing the modules. I tried to refine the Veldspar into Tritanium to discover that the 107 units i had mined were not enough to begin the refining process. So I just sold the Veldspar unrefined instead. A few moments later my wallet flashed informing me that I had just been paid Bounty Prizes. I now had a balance of 17873.63ISK. I didn't know if this was a lot but I guessed only time would tell so I undocked and began the journey to Eve Gate hoping all the dangers of Low sec space were exaggerated.

Entry 1: The Message

I felt myself come Alive. It was a strange sensation from the transition of Non existence into what I can only described as being alive. One moment their was nothing then their was light, noise, smell, sound and the sensation of touch. I have no recollection of who or where I am.

It was a few moments before I realized that I was situated securely inside a capsule which was inside a small ship that was floating in space in the vicinity of a small asteroid field. My ships HUD was informing me that the ship was designated as an IBIS and was fitted with a Mining Laser and a small weapon. It was then that I noticed the flashing message light on my HUD informing me that I had a message.

Now that I think of it, how could I not know my own name but at the same time know what a HUD, capsule or ship was and that I had a message waiting. I can only surmise that only my memories pertaining to me as an individual are lost. I opened the message by simply using my mind to activate the required command in the ships computer.

The message read as follows:

Do not be alarmed. All indications are that the transfer has completed successfully. You of course have no memory of who you are or where you came from. I can inform you that you are an operative for a secret organization on a extremely important mission. You do not need to know the nature of your mission. All that is required of you is to use the Data Entry Point currently displayed on your HUD to record a Journal of your travels in New Eden. You will also be issued with new orders which you MUST COMPLY with at all costs. Failure to comply will result in your termination and a new operative will be sent in your place. Termination will result in NON EXISTENCE.

Your Designation is Kira Caldar.

You are female of the species and part of the Race known as the Caldari. We chose this race as we believe they are the best equipped to complete your mission.

We require you to comply with the following rules during your time in New Eden. It is imperative that you keep a low profile.

  • You may use the market to sell any salvage or loot that you acquire.
  • You CAN NOT purchase any items on the market other than Skill Instruction Manuals.
  • You may purchase any form of clones.
  • All other goods must be obtained by means that do not involve the transfer of ISK in any way.
  • You CAN NOT join any alliance or Corporations unless instructed to do so by ourselves.
  • You MUST remain politically neutral in all areas of the galaxy unless instructed by ourselves.
  • You may attack another Pilot only in self defense.
  • Spies may discover these rules, if this happens you must not acknowledge their existence.

Your first task is a simple one of exploration. You are required to Fly to the place of origin. EVE GATE. Upon arrival you will find containers floating in space. Leave a marker inside a container near the system's sun. When you have completed your mission you will receive new instructions.

Before you venture onto your first task you should know this. A parasite has infected many pilots in the galaxy. The parasite lives in the brain of the infected pilot and causes a chemical imbalance in the brain which it then feeds off. Infected Pilots believe that their lives in New Eden is nothing but a game being played out by their real selves in another consciousness. The more they discuss their delusions of this "OTHER LIFE" the stronger the parasite becomes. At no time must you join in conversation concerning this so called other life. It is hoped that in time a parasite will die due to starvation as the chemical imbalance is corrected. We believe correction will occur if the delusions are not encouraged.

That is all

I read the message so many times that I have lost count. I don't know how i know but everything I am being told is true. So with the words of "NON EXISTENCE" in the forefront of my mind, I know I have no choice but to follow my orders and will set off to Eve Gate as soon as possible.
