Entry 10: The Skeleton Comet

Using the starmap I have searched through many of the various systems closer to M-VACR but have been unable to find any stations closer that will allow me to freely dock and transfer my clone. As such I decided to return to Deltole and investigate the areas of space I found there. On my way to Deltole I pillaged the contents of a wreck in Halguir and collected the Null Ammo I had previously left in Bei.

I arrived in Deltole and warped to the Junk yard I had visited earlier. Two pilots were located within the Junk yard that I had not noticed before. Krester Rupptofs and Wrtuk Formur. Both pilots are agents for the Trust Partners Warehouse corporation. Apparently if my reputation with their corporation was good enough I could be employed by them to conduct missions. I had seen similar agents in space stations but this was the first time I had seen them while in open space. However it seems my reputation is currently not high enough and as such they barley acknowledge my existence. I couldn't find anything further of value in the Junk yard so I warped to something called the Skeleton Comet.

Going into warp the following message appeared on my HUD:

The Skeleton Comet, a comet that was picked clean during the early stages of Federation space exploration, is one of the many landmarks in Algintal that makes the constellation known as one of the most beautiful places in the whole Federation. While not as spectacular as its more renown cousin the Canyon of Rust the Skeleton Comet still attracted tourists from all over. But in recent years the smuggling cartels operating in the constellation have made the place their own. Driven from their other pirate havens by activists or, more recently, foreign corporations, they have convened here to make the Skeleton Comet their last great bastion of smuggling activity in the constellation. Needless to say, the only tourists now visiting the place are those in search of smuggled goods or illicit affairs.

Yet the Skeleton Comet holds one little-known secret unlocked by those early miners. While drilling in a remote corner of the complex they found ancient relics and definite signs that humans had tread here before, thousands of years earlier. Only recently these startling evidence were analyzed further to collaborate what had until then only existed as rumors whispered in shady mining bars around the Federation. A fascinating story of early settlers in the world of EVE was uncovered, a nation calling itself Yan Jung.

But the intrusion of the smuggling cartels halted further arcaeological diggings, though it is said that the smugglers themselves have been poking around in the old ruins. Some say fabulous discoveries have been made, but the smugglers keep silent on the subject.

Coming out of warp I found an Ancient Acceleration gate. This would take me the rest of the way to the comet. I activated the gate and arrived to see a feast of wrecks and cargo containers appear on my HUD. Unfortunately I also found a high concentration of pirates as well. My little Ibis would be no match for these Pirates. However I decided that perhaps I could raid some of the wrecks before being targeted.

I started moving towards the closest Cargo Container. Waiting for the tell tale sign of a ship locking onto me. I managed to reach the Cargo Container and move its contents. However I was stealing so once again I was in danger of being destroyed by the cargo containers owners Corp. It wasn't long however before a number of the pirates had moved within range and started locking onto me. Common sense dictated It was a good time to warp to the station and dock.

Once docked, I reprocessed the majority of items I had acquired, mainly ammo, and sold the minerals. I still had the Null ammo and decided that perhaps I should make the 4 Jump Journey to Auvergne, where I could get the best price available. I will return to the skeleton Comet later.
